Impeach Trump! That’s been the mantra of the Democrat party and their journo-pets since Trump won in 2016. In early 2016 the FBI, the Department of Justice and intelligence agencies, with a nod from the Obama Administration, launched what they euphemistically called an investigation of the Trump campaign, which in truth was spying on the Trump campaign. Now, the same media-Democrat cabal seeks to divert our attention with one hoax after another. The shiny objects are Russian collusion, which died with the Mueller report, followed by cries for impeachment over an ordinary phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian president. After impeachment fails, there will be another shiny object. Spying on an opposition political campaign to nullify the 2016 election and fix the next one is easily the greatest political scandal in American history, so distract they must. These banana republic tactics were hatched by Democrat appointees in a Democrat administration and aided by supposedly non-partisan, non-political civil servants. So who really “hacked our democracy?”

Vice President Joe Biden’s failing Presidential bid hit a major snag when Biden said he could work with segregationist Senators James Eastland (D-Mississippi) and Herman Talmidge (D-Georgia) “to get things done.” Eastland and Talmidge are long gone from the US Senate, and Biden never mentioned that they were fellow Democrats. Biden continued, “But today, you look at the other side, and you’re the enemy…we don’t talk to each other anymore.” The other side? Huh? They were all Democrats.

History is poorly and selectively taught in schools today. Most people don’t know that the Republican party was founded to end slavery. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president. Lincoln ended slavery at the cost of 600,000 American lives in the Civil War. Republicans passed the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution to outlaw slavery, give blacks the right to vote and guarantee them equal protection under the law, over fierce Democrat opposition. It was Democrats who imposed Jim Crow laws, lynched blacks, founded the Ku Klux Klan, and opposed anti-lynching laws. Democrat Senator Robert Byrd was a longtime leader of the KKK.

The media, who are supposed to inform us and give context to the news of the day, barely mentioned that Talmidge and Eastland were Democrats. Instead they called them “southern segregationists.”

Democrat/progressive propaganda is everywhere. My wife Jo and I visited a great historical site, the Seward House in Auburn. The tour guide was a young woman, a college student studying history at Hobart. She said that Lincoln may have been a Republican, but he became a “liberal” and that’s why he issued the Emancipation Proclamation. I wish I was kidding, but I’m not. Obviously, the young woman was poorly served by her professors. Jo tried to set her straight, but she would have none of it. If conservatives preserve that which is true and has been shown to work from the past, then Mr. Lincoln was every inch a conservative. He based his opposition to slavery largely on the Declaration of Independence: “All men are created equal and endowed by their creator…” That’s not progressive fadism. It is rock-ribbed conservatism.

Recall what Obama said of traditional people living in small towns: “…and it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment…” A few years later, Hillary Clinton said, “…half of Trump supporters are a basket of deplorables…” She continued, calling them “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it.”

The message is clear—many Americans are stupid, ignorant and worst, racist. Flash back to Biden: I think he was speaking in code. He was banking on people’s ignorance of basic history, especially the Democrat base, betting they’d think “Republicans” when he said “southern segregationists.” Translation: I’m the guy who can work with those racist Republicans.

Democrats always aim for the lowest intellectual and moral common denominator, but the Senate hearings to vet Supreme Court nominee Bret Kavanaugh have marked a new low.

The hearings have been an orchestrated circus. Democrat operatives disguised as protesters disrupted the hearings. Many were forcibly removed, but the Democrats added to this theater of the absurd. California Senator Dianne Feinstein had received a letter from Dr. Christine Ford alleging that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her 36 years ago. Feinstein sat on the letter for two months before dropping this dirty bomb just before a vote to recommend Kavanough to the full Senate.

Dr. Ford wanted to remain anonymous but Democrats outed her, forcing her to testify to the Senate and the nation. She testified in five-minute intervals, each followed by Democrat fawning. Cross-examinations rely on momentum; the goal is to put the witness on the defensive to get at the truth. Republicans never exposed the gaping holes in Ford’s story. It’s been said the difference between the political parties is that Democrats are shameless and Republicans are gutless. The failed cross-examination of Dr. Ford proves it.

Democrat Senators Booker, Blumenthal and Harris added to the spectacle. Feigning outrage, they walked out of the hearing. Any place is improved by their leaving.

Now Kavanaugh will have his seventh FBI background check. Democrats say this is the gold standard, but every key witness has already testified or has been deposed under oath. Not one of them corroborates Dr. Ford’s allegation, and in any case, the witnesses can’t change what they’ve already said lest they commit perjury.

Michelle Obama once famously exhorted Democrats to climb out of the rhetorical gutter, saying, “When they go low (Republicans), we go high.” But what Democrats do is go low, and then go lower.
