Leftists got their clocks cleaned in what can only be described as a crushing defeat in the recent UK elections. Conservatives (the Tory party, analogous to our Republican party) swept to the largest majority since 1987. Conservatives won 365 seats in the House of Commons (like our House of Representatives) to just 203 seats for the Labour party (the UK’s leftists, similar to our Democrat party). Labour usually wins the blue-collar vote, but not this time; the Tories won the working-class vote in a walk. Districts that have voted Labour since WW II, 73 years, voted Tory. A huge issue was leaving the European Union. But there was so much more to this election.

Britons rebelled against rule by the elites of the European Union. Similarly, in this country, the Democrat party has abandoned working-class and rural voters in favor two new voting blocs. One is the so-called “creative class,” a term coined (by Richard Florida, a University of Toronto economist) to describe well-paid urbanites who work in professional, managerial and technical fields. The second group is a replacement electorate: illegal aliens. Democrats have courted illegals by letting them jump our border with no consequences, allowing them to live in so-called sanctuary cities and giving them lots of free stuff: college tuition, health care, welfare, drivers’ licenses. By design, Democrat policies invite more border-jumping. The Democrat party, like the Labour party, loathes decent, hard-working Americans. Remember what two Democrat Presidential candidates said? Barack Obama in 2008:

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and…in the Midwest, the jobs have gone now for 25 years…And it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment…”

And Hillary Clinton in 2016:

you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables…racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic….you name it.”

This is as contemptuous as it gets, and it exactly mirrors the attitude of Britain’s Labour party. Let’s think about this for a moment. On immigration, all we want is a rational policy based on merit. If you’re an asset to the country, can support yourself and love America, you’re in. For this, we’re labeled “racist.” We want border enforcement; you can’t have a functional immigration policy with open borders. And for this, we’re called “xenophobic.” When we question giving taxpayer money, our money, to illegals, we’re called heartless and cruel. When we ask, “Where have all the jobs gone?” we’re told to shut up, move elsewhere if you want a job, that’s just the way it is, nothing can be done.

Right here in New York State, our ruling elites now give us an end to cash bail, as well as needle exchange sites in “hard-to-reach rural areas,” which will release criminals onto our streets and worse, invite them into our neighborhoods. This will not hurt the politicians, who have armed guards, or people in living in gated communities or posh apartments with a 24/7 doorman. No, this hurts the working class.

Not one poll predicted the stunning repudiation of the UK’s Labour party. Polls didn’t predict the recent conservative sweep in Australia. In Paris, the yellow vests are out in force. The message is the same: We’re sick of the condescending attitude of the elites, and we’re taking our government back. Government of, by and for the people never goes out of style, but sometimes our rulers forget who’s in charge. They will need to be reminded AGAIN in 2020.

Due process, that is. Congressman Adam “Shifty” Shiff (D-CA) conduced the “Shiff Show,” the impeach-Trump farce which has now gone to the Judiciary Committee headed by Jerry Nadler (D-NY). Speaker Pelosi has instructed Nadler to draw up articles of impeachment. The process has been anything but fair and that is by design. The intention was to impeach all along. The phone call to the Ukrainian president is just an excuse for Pelosi, Nadler and Shiff to conduct a Soviet show trial to move public opinion against Trump thereby damaging him in the election less than 1 year away. But in doing so they have utterly trashed Due Process rights which are fundamental to our criminal justice system. Fanatics are single minded and never think about the long-term consequences of their actions. If they can railroad the most powerful man on the planet, they can do it to YOU. These Due Process rights come to us from the mother country, England, and have been in place since the Magna Carta was signed in 1215. Someone tell the House Democrats about them. Here they are:

1. The right to confront your accuser.

2. The right to cross-examine your accuser.

3. The right to call witnesses.

4. The right to cross-examine witnesses.

5. The right to present evidence.

6. The right to counsel.

7. The right to a public trial.

Trump was deprived of all of these. Clinton, Nixon and Johnson who were each impeached, were not. Now the sham has moved to the Senate where Trump and the Republicans can really wage a fight. Do it, House Democrats! Impeach him, and let all that you have hidden come out. I can’t wait.

Elections have consequences. The result of the last Congressional election is the phony Democrat-led impeachment of a duly elected Republican President. The Democrat House Speaker describes the occasion as “solemn” and says she’s “prayerful” – gag me. This is a political hit job, plain and simple. For three years the Democrat Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Shiff, has been saying that he has evidence of Trump-Russia collusion, yet this practiced liar hasn’t produced a shred of it yet. Shiff and his committee are now gathering “evidence” of Presidential malfeasance. Zero principles here, and even less honesty.

The previous plot to remove Trump alleged that he colluded with Russia “to hack our democracy.” You don’t hear about this now because the Mueller report killed it: no collusion found. Now, Democrats have hatched a new plan to overturn the 2016 election and rig the 2020 contest. The current plot is based on President Trump’s phone conversation with the Ukrainian president. President Trump released the transcript of that phone call; I read it and found nothing remotely criminal. I respectfully ask that you read the transcript for yourself. Trump committed no crime. This President and previous Presidents have asked foreign leaders to help with investigations, and have withheld aid pending cooperation by foreign governments on various matters.

Hysterical Democrats bleat daily about their loyalty to the Constitution and the President “violating his oath of office.” Phonies all. Progressive Democrats would gleefully rip the “obsolete” Constitution into confetti, toss it in the air and celebrate while it tumbles around them. But the sham impeachment miserably grinds on, with the press propping it up and giving it what it lacks – a patina of legitimacy.

House Republicans have done their part. All voted against the faux impeachment resolution. Two Democrats voted against it, making the vote for impeachment partisan, and the vote against impeachment bipartisan. Nick Langworthy, Chairman of the New York State Republican Party, has targeted four vulnerable House Democrats for defeat in 2020. Good for him. The Republican Party finally has a beating heart and a steely spine. This bodes well for the country, and for New York State.

Politics is a team game. Winning will take all of us. I have a suggestion: please get involved. Write a letter to the editor, contribute to one or more candidates, and help put an end to this Shiff show by supporting the opponents of the four Democrats targeted by Chairman Langworthy. Here is the latest.

NY 22: Anthony Brindisi (D). Trump won this district by 15 points. Several candidates are vying for the Republican nomination, but former Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is the favorite to face Brindisi.

NY 11: Max Rose (D). Trump won NY 11 by 10 points. Rose’s likely opponent is Republican Nicole Malliatakis.

NY 19: Antonio Delgado (D). This is a Trump +7 district. At this stage, no clear challenger to Delgado has emerged.

NY 18: Sean Patrick Maloney (D). President Trump won NY 18 by two points. Republican Chele Farley has announced her candidacy. Farley ran against Kirsten Gillibrand in 2018.

All four of these so-called moderate Democrats wanted no part of impeachment as candidates. But once in office, they all changed their tune. Join the team, and let’s throw the four bums out.
